Teenage Boy Gets the Biggest Surprise From Military Mom

JOLLY TIME® Happy News: Teenage Boy Gets the Biggest Surprise From Military Mom

Samuel Harris, who goes by the nickname “Tote,” was asked to speak after practice, continuing the team’s tradition to have players share inspiration with their teammates. That day, the theme was centered around respect, so he spoke about his hard-working mother—little did he know she was standing right behind him.

Tereca Harris, who had been deployed with the US Navy for nine months, told TODAY she wasn’t supposed to come home until a few months later, but they allowed her to return early due to her grandmother’s health issues. However, she decided to keep her homecoming a surprise for Tote.

Captured on video, we see Tereca hiding while she waits for her son to finish speaking before she walks up to him, grinning from ear to ear, and casually taps him on the arm. As soon as the teenager sees her, he doesn’t hesitate a second to embrace her. .

“There were so many tears,” said Harris, who not only made it in time to hear her son’s touching words, but also watch his homecoming game, which happened to fall on his 16th birthday. The timing couldn’t have been more on point!
